Here Comes The Plane!

I'm back! Finally! Hopefully I won't get so bogged down again. Am I the only one to be happy that school is starting? All I can say is...Teenagers...Oh and I forgot...football, band, back to school shopping, Dr's, appointments, hair cuts and work!

Found these adorable pics of Matthew when he was learning to eat baby food. He was a quick learner :)

I love this chubby little plane paper from Bo Bunny!

Fussy cut the adorable planes & clouds. Added some Stickles and foam squares.

Outlined the letters to help them stand out.

All supplies are Bo Bunny except the black letter stickers, better known as "Thickers" :)

Back later this week with some ScrapRoom reveals!

MIA...Agent Codename *carkareokequeen* Reporting

That is the extent of my attempt at cleverness. I know I've been neglecting my blog. Neglect due in part to no time to scrapbook! My niece came for a visit and I went back to work, football practice, band camp, school shopping and I could go on but I won't :) So I'll share some photos instead!

This is a photo heavy post, so if you aren't into photos of my offspring you might want to skip out :}}

First up...Band Camp. More like "boot camp" Mimi says! Up at the crack of dawn (8 am is the crack of dawn according to Mimi), breakfast, exercise, practice, break, practice, eat and repeat. Poor baby.

They camped out in the school classrooms, looks just like Mimi's room at home!

Lots of practice in 90 degree weather made for some really hot and tired girls.

She had to learn many new dance moves and flag maneuvers.

The last day of camp they gave their 1st performance of "Schizophrenia".

The Hartford Indian Emerald Vanguard Colorguard...now isn't that a mouthful!

One hot and tired girl :)

Next up is some cousin bonding :) Matt and Grace share a love of archery. Matt's fueled by the desire to bag his first deer and Gracies probably by the book "The Hunger Games".

She looks like she knows what she's doing to me!

He looks a little surprised :)

Love this girl :)

Can't believe I caught the arrow in midflight!

She looks so professional.

Maybe the next " Katniss"?

Matthew shows off his form.

Later this week I'll have more photos from Grace's visit and maybe a layout, if I can get it photographed in between work, doctor's appointments and such. I can't believe summer is almost over! What are you planning for the last couple of weeks of summer?

Little Yellow Bicycle Cycling Team "The Escape"

Yay! It's my turn to share the projects I created as part of the LYB Escape Cycling Team :)

I was amazed by the variety of embellishments and had a field day playing with them! Almost all my travel photos are from our vacations to Florida over the years. My first project highlights some of those photos we all have...uncooperative family outtakes. Hop on over to their blog to read the details!

Some photos from a trip to Busch Gardens in Tampa inspired the next layout.

My final project is an altered picture frame. We have so few family photos, I wanted to create a special frame for one of them. Even if it wasn't the most flattering photo of me :P

I want to thank Little Yellow Bicycle for choosing me to be a member of their Escape Cycling Team!

Happiness *thinking*through*design*

Thursday's thought at thinking*through*design is on using chevrons, a very popular pattern right now. Summer Fresh from Simple Stories was a nice match to the bright colors in my son's shirt. He was 7 months old and still sporting his cast (that is another story). I can't remember who took these photos for me but I can bet it wasn't my husband since my head isn't cut off and there is no thumb over the lense :)

Fussy cut the journaling collage and bingo card.

Love their "washi tape" stickers!

This badge was a perfect accent :)

Supplies: Cardstock:Bazzill; patterned paper, stickers,: Simple Stories; flowers: Recollections; border punch: Martha Stewart: ft butterfly and flower: Micheals dollar spot; adhesive: 3L, Scotch: misc: buttons; sketch: Dolores Schaeffer from Ideas for Scrapbookers blog.

Take a moment to visit the thinking*through*design blog to be inspired to use chevrons on your next project!

Delightful and She Loves the Beach *The ScrapRoom*

The second half of the Doubleshot kit from the ScrapRoom was a selection of My Minds Eye Indie Chic loveliness. I'm so in love with this line! I'd actually purchased some of this line a couple of weeks before on my 1st trip to Archivers but amazingly enough, none of the same items!

I love these photos of my daughter playing at Lake Michigan but they were very bright and I wanted a soft feeling for this layout. Desaturating them in Photoshop, leaving just a hint of color accomplished my goal.

Used 3 sizes of scalloped circle punches to create the flowers.

Promise I'll add the journaling later :) Used the new sticky Thickers and glitter for "Beach", love the soft effect.

Used Aphra's sketch of the month for Delightful.

Added misting, bling and butterflies to to compliment this beautiful paper

The Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge was perfect for creating these flowers, tried to mimic the ones in the paper. Bling from Zva Creative (not in kit).

I used everything in this kit but a few scraps of paper,1 sticker and 1 button! I plan on making a couple of cards with that :)

Hello Spring! *The ScrapRoom*

One half of the August Doubleshot kit from The ScrapRoom was Little Yellow Bicycle's Hello Spring line. can't get enough of those bright, cheery colors! The sticker sheet included was loaded with cute, versatile icons and I used nearly every one :)

Mixed it up by using 2 different colors of the cardstock included as the base, kinda a yin yang type of thing.

I've been on a circle kick again and this time with crazy stitching added.
I didn't add any journaling, sometimes the photos say it all.

I want to kiss those little, serious sweet cheeks every time I look at this picture!

Look at this face, what a cutie...and that bunny is too!

It was so much more fun to stitch out of the lines :)

A little hand stitching too.

The title is Basic Grey naked chipboard painted white and covered with glitter.

That tree is so stinkin' cute! Kudos to whomever designed it :)
and I have even more to share...

Trimmed the scallops from the diecut included in the kit and made a banner.

Finally broke out my Sizzix Bigz takeout box die and made this cute little gift box.

The opposite side.

The view from the top.
Even the tag is from the sticker sheet, backed with paper and perfect to jot a name on.

Take some time to hop (pun intended) over to The Scraproom's blog for more inspiration!
