Here Comes The Plane!

I'm back! Finally! Hopefully I won't get so bogged down again. Am I the only one to be happy that school is starting? All I can say is...Teenagers...Oh and I forgot...football, band, back to school shopping, Dr's, appointments, hair cuts and work!

Found these adorable pics of Matthew when he was learning to eat baby food. He was a quick learner :)

I love this chubby little plane paper from Bo Bunny!

Fussy cut the adorable planes & clouds. Added some Stickles and foam squares.

Outlined the letters to help them stand out.

All supplies are Bo Bunny except the black letter stickers, better known as "Thickers" :)

Back later this week with some ScrapRoom reveals!

Birds of a Feather...

Flock Together! Love the bright, saturated colors of this line (Alora) by Bo Bunny. The bird icons sparked the title and it's a perfect fit. My sister and I share the same quirky sense of humor and so do our kids :) I'm really loving the resurgence of photo booths everywhere. This one was at the carousel in Saint Joseph and we couldn't resist...take a good gander at the size of Mimi's mouth in the one photo. She's laughing hysterically because we bumped heads while trying to fit 4 of them into the booth.

Cardstock: Stampin' Up; patterned paper, chipboard: Bo Bunny; journaling spot: KI Memories; letter stickers: American Crafts, Bo Bunny; buttons: Basic Grey; brads: Sassafrass; twine: WR Memory Keepers; ink: Smooch, Clearsnap; pen: Sakura; corner rounder punch: EK Success; adhesive: 3L, Therm O Web, Tombow.

I've been in a corner rounding mood lately :P

Adding the date and location was a definite improvement on the old booths.

It's kind of hard to see in the photos but there is Smooch ink sprinkled on the paper, it is really shiny and metallic looking in person.

My letter sticker stash is quickly overtaking my Thickers in volume...who can resist all those delicious colors and fonts?

Worked outside for several hours in the glorious, unseasonably warm, sunshiney weather :} Just hoping a cold snap doesn't kill any of the plants fooled by this impostor of a spring! This weather is killing my scrapping mojo and my back. Going to try and resist the call of the sun tomorrow and do some scrapping. If I don't, my husband might have to help me out of bed on Monday morning!

March Sketch Challenge

My friend Amanda over at Love Joy Paper is hosting her monthly sketch challenge and she has invited me to play along! Her lovely sketch can be interpreted in so many ways or kept just as it is, either way it's a great sketch :)

Here is the sketch:
LoveJoyPaperMarchsketch

And my interpretation:

Cardstock: Bazzill, Stampin' Up; patterned paper: Bo Bunny; letter stickers: American Crafts; flowers: Petaloo; buttons: Sassafrass; diecuts: K & Co., Little Yellow Bicycle; marker: Marvy Uchida; bakers twine: Martha Stewart; adhesive: 3L, Therm O Web, Tombow.

I chose to keep the original photo, title, and journaling placement. These papers by Bo Bunny just begged to be fussy cut for the background!

You know me and Thickers...it's a love affair :P

Love the movement of the swirls.

Those buttons came pre threaded and sticky! What a concept :)

The seagulls were a perfect finishing touch.

Pop on over to Amanda's blog and participate in her challenge for a chance to win an awesome prize!

A Little Bo Bunny and Imaginisce

You know those little stamps, the ones you can't resist because they're only a $1 or so and they are so cute... I have a shoebox full and most have never been used.

 I'm so ashamed.

 Not.

Finally pulled them out and experimented a little! Used markers to color in the first one by Imaginisce. The tiny border stamp is theirs also. The rock in "U Rock" is from Studio G.

Used the "Stand and Salute" Cricut cartridge for the stars

Cardstock: Stampin' Up, Bo Bunny; patterned paper: Imaginisce; letter sticker "U": Recollections; ink:Tsukinenko; markers: Marvy Uchida; adhesive: 3L, Tombow.

I noticed in several magazines that not everyone sticks to standard card sizes , so I decided to be daring and try some new sizes. Continuing my goal of using scraps, I came up with these two.

Love these texting abbreviation stamps by TPC Studio.

Cardstock: Stampin' Up, patterned paper: Bo Bunny; stamp: Studio G (Thanks So Much); chipboard letters: Die Cuts with a View; chipboard: Bo Bunny; ink: Tsukinenko; baker's twine: W R Memory Keepers; adhesive: Tombow; misc: buttons.

On a totally unrelated note...

Why did both of my children come home today and just tell me an hour ago that they have a band concert tomorrow night?!!! Now don't get me wrong, I know teachers tell students information and said information is quickly forgotten, but a note or email would be nice! Sure we want our kids to be responsible and dependable but face it, they mess up! So what is the harm in sending us parents a reminder?

Deep breath...

"Rough & Tough" is one way to describe my last weekend!

My car is a little worse for the wear (minor fender bender) after our little shopping foray and my feet hurt the entire next day! Who knew it was back to college weekend!? Notre Dame, Saint Mary's, IU, Bethel College and a couple of others, the traffic was horrid. All Matthew wanted to do was go to the Guitar Center, we did manage to pick him up a couple of pair of jeans. Mimi made out with some cute outfits. I'm in love with a skirt she found at a resale store, I see a photo shoot in her near future :)

Back on track here...

I'm still scrapping my endless supply of kiddo pics and these were in my "I Love" pile. He looks so all boy. Pulled this Mammarazzi paper by Bo Bunny from my stash and went grunge! The photo color is off a little, always at the mercy of the Michigan weather!

The title wasn't standing out enough for me so I sponged on some acrylic paint and outlined it with a Sharpie.

The cardboard is torn from a coffee cup holder.

Inked everything with Distress Ink by Ranger.

There was a little too much white space, the hand drawn lines solved that problem. I'm really in love with the finished layout :}

Off to bed, no rest for the wicked. The baby business is booming. Don't these women know we are in a recession? Just kidding...lovin' those of sweet smelling, soft, snuggly, little bundles of joy :) Have a fabulous Friday!

Cards...Why are they so hard for me?

I really struggle with cards. They are so small, no place for all those lovely embellishments :) Now anyone who scraps knows, we cut a lot of paper. Hence  many paper scraps are created. They accumulate until they overflow but they are too pretty to throw away!

My resolution to make two cards with the scraps from every layout quickly fell by the wayside. Now, my designated spot for scraps is so full they won't fit :( So today I made myself sit and make only cards. Poke me in the eye with a needle! After much shuffling of paper and poring over card idea books, I created 6 cards and I'm quite proud of myself :)

The Bo Bunny line "Sophie" was one of my favorites so I had quite a few scraps and leftover chipboard. Used a ticket punch for the title and some of my never ending stash of flowers with tiny button centers.

My friend Leslie, brought some cards to work that she made at a Stampin' Up stamp camp. I used the "Straight from the Nest" Cricut cartridge to create the presents instead of punches. This one is my favorite. The other three were made after it was too dark to photograph them, so I'll have to share them another day.

Lerita came and took me out for lunch. It was nice to visit with her. We haven't been able to get together as much because of her new job :(

On call all day and didn't get called in...Yippee!

Mimi tried on her closet in preparation for school shopping. Only 3 pair of  her old jeans fit, darn it.

 Matthew came home from 5 hours of football practice with bruises everywhere. I wish I could wrap him in bubble wrap or go to the practice fields and yell at those darn boys to be careful with my baby! Alas...I think he would disown me :}

Eric made yummy lasagna, garlic bread, coleslaw & green beans.

Hope you had a good Monday!

I Wanna Be a Cowgirl

Yes...this is my Mimi in her "cowgirl" getup when she was 3 1/2 years old :) Those are her Daddy's size 14 boots! Hard to believe she is almost 13 and ready to get her braces off soon. She was in love with this cowboy hat for a while, consequently there are several pics of her in various activities wearing it.

This is my interpretation of this weeks sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.

 Here is the sketch:

and my  layout:

I'm on a Bo Bunny kick this week :) These papers from the "Sophie" line seemed to have a western feel. The dimensional stickers are Jolee's Boutique and were perfect for this layout.

A few extra jewels and a little inking with a marker made them even cuter(if that is possible)!

The patterned paper medallions are cut and slipped onto the larger circles, all cut with the Coluzzle.

Had a wonderful day today with my sweet friend Missy! She took me out to lunch at Moo's Place (my fave Chinese Restaurant), to the Chocolate Garden for some truffles...Ooh La La, my taste buds were singing for joy! That place so deserved to be on Oprah. Check them out on the net, you won't be sorry! Finally a stroll around the local antique mall where I found another lidded jar for my collection. Perfection. Thanks Missy for the great day and Starbucks card, you made working on my birthday not such a big deal :}

Happy 4th of July!

Tubing is one of our favorite summertime activities. I wasn't at my BIL's house to catch my son's spectacular wipe outs this weekend (that darn job :P) but here is a layout I did of my DD & her cousin last year featured in www.scrapstreet.com, a fabulous online magazine!  Here is the link to get you straight there: http://scrapstreet.com/ss11/7july11/summer2.htm

I did have today off and it was a productive one :) Finished weeding & edging the front beds and trimmed one side of the hedge. Barbecue & strawberry shortcake with my family & stepdad. Perfection!

Hope you had a great holiday weekend!

Rainy Days

Are perfect for scrapping! It took me a while to get moving this morning, but I finally broke out the pretties :)First I said goodbye to my Niece (she is heading back to Tennessee), kissed my Mimi (she is off to her friends Kendall & Olivia's house to stay the night) and sent Matthew off to help Grandpa Joe.

This layout is based on a Becky Fleck sketch http://www.pagemaps.blogspot.com/ She is the queen of sketches :)

I wanted to use soccer balls but make it feel girly too! Thank goodness my sister in law had the Sports Mania Cricut cartridge, as I had not one soccer related embellishment. Still using this line "Petal Pushers" by Bo Bunny, I love the retro, girly feel it has.

"party" was cut with the Opposites Attract cartridge and layered over "soccer" that was cut with Base Camp. A little Stickles and voila, a title that fits!

I am gazing out the window now and I swear I can see the weeds growing! I spent a good portion of the day yesterday weeding and edging, sigh... it's a never ending job :) Off to clean up my scraproom for the next time. Have a great holiday weekend! I'll be delivering babies,or maybe they'll have mercy on a tired OB nurse ;)

Sweet Weekends!

After Thursday & Friday I really needed the weekend off! I think we broke our shift record for 8 deliveries in 12 hours Scared 1.

Missy (My scrappy buddy) came over yesterday and we had a scrap fest plus we snuck off to South Bend to visit Pages In Time Forever. They had my all time fav thing on sale...THICKERS! Anyone who knows me knows how much I love American Craft "Thickers" :) Got my hands on some of the new My Minds Eye "Stella Rose". Wow, what beautiful paper! Here is one of the layouts I finished yesterday, sketch courtesy of http://www.sketchsupport.com/p/one-page-sketches.html:

Off to the movies with the kiddos to see "The Kings' Speech". Be back later. Thanks for stopping by!

A New Record :)

When I downloaded a sketch from http://www.sketchsupport.com/ I already knew  I wanted to use these pics of Mimi & Lindsey tubing last year. The colors in this Bo Bunny paper were a perfect match!

I think I finished this layout in record time...4 hours instead of my usual 6 ! Off to try to shorten my  record an a new layout :)
