Being "On CAll" Stinks!

Especially on a beautiful day. It means I can't go out and get dirty :( There have been so few nice days, this is torture! I did go out and take a few pics while the black gnats ate me for breakfast.

This gorgeous Rhododendron is in full bloom

The Poppies are just getting started. Aren't the crinkly petals on this one gorgeous!?

The petals of this German Iris are sparkly like eyeshadow, even though you can't see it in the picture.

I can't believe the Peonies are just starting, they usually bloom the beginning to middle of May!

Clematis is so beautiful, too bad it blooms for such a short time :(

If it is raining where you are, I hope these pics make you smile!

Thanks for stopping by, pop in anytime :))

Oops! Has It Really Been 16 Days?

Since I posted :O Busy is not the word for it! First let me say...I"M SICK OF RAIN! I'm sure there are a lot of people voicing the same expletives I've been every day when I get up and see the clouds. Not conducive for getting ready for a plant sale. Potting in the rain does keep the clouds of mosquitoes away :) Here are a couple of pics of the results of all my work the past few weeks. These are the before photos, I'll post the after next week sometime.

Sale went pretty well, but still a lot of plants left. I may be making a trip to the farmer's market next month. The weather & the bugs didn't help matters. A bright spot was my 2 "besties", Lerita & Lyn. They came to help out. I spend a good part of the sale helping people choose plants, answering questions, and showing everyone around the gardens. Lerita makes a great cashier and Lyn is happy to bag them up and get them to the vehicles! So much more fun with friends :)

Sorry for the long delay..hope y'all come back now ;)

I Love My Friends!

I don't know what I'd do without my best friends! Lerita has been my friend since high school. We've been together through thick & thin. I can always count on her for support in everything I do, good or bad and she knows I will always do the same. She spent a good portion of her precious time making the fliers and postcards for my 5th annual plant sale (in between taking her mother in law to the doctor and a track meet). She is a whiz with the computer. She also came over and helped me make the cute little "Out for Publication" sign I used today. Sending her all my love and lots of hugs & kisses!

Thanks for stopping by and supporting me in your own way :)

A Great Week!

* Hey, wait a minute... It reappeared! *

I guess I have to repost my news from Wednesday since it disappeared :(

2 emails in 1 week = 1 happy gal!!! I will have a layout in Scrapbook Trends & Cricut Magazine in October! SWOON. I was so happy I cried (of course that could peri menopause), and I didn't have to contend with sibling rivalry since neither layout had a teen in it :}}

Busy as a bee, that's what I've been. Weeding, dividing, replanting, potting up, labeling, and watering are some of my chores to be ready for my plant sale. Postcards need to be addressed & mailed, fliers passed out and hung, and more of above until the 27th & 28th of May. Sadly there won't be much scrapping going on, but watch out in July & August! I'll be a scrappin' fool!

Here are a few photos from the gardens so far this year. Love the color combo of the magenta & chartreuse!

Marmalade follows me everywhere :)

Such a pretty flower for a plant they call "Pigsqueak"!

Fluffy, pink cherry blossoms. Lovely.

Happy Spring!

This Is My Life

For the last 5 days :) Dance, baseball, soccer, track & repeat!

Taking pics through the chain link is a challenge!

Finally a nice day for a soccer game! Mimi & Olivia, ready to go.

And here is one of Matthew, "happily" throwing the shot put!

Throw in a visit to the doctor for a very painful leg (my own) and there is, sadly, no time left to scrap. I hate to admit it but age is catching up to me, at least in the vein department. The varicosities and spider veins in my right leg are really hurting! Here come support hose. Picture stuffing a sausage...that is me trying to get into those things! The thigh highs were a joke. Apparently the person designing them didn't have chubby thighs to contend with. My husband had a good laugh at my expense, threatening to film it for America's Funniest Videos... but he decided he wants to live a few more years!

Thanks for visiting, hoping to have time to scrap in the near future!

Oh the Things I will do!

To cover up the mistakes I've made :) Now that I have your attention, it's not as bad as it sounds. Originally the little 4 wheeler I made on the Cricut with the "Going Places" cartridge had orange wheels. It just seemed so plain...so I tried to add some detail with a marker. Not a good idea it turns out.

Anyone that has tried to lift something attached with foam squares knows it is a pain in the hinney! I sat and stared at it until steam came out of my ears, then a lightbulb appeared over my head :) I cut the 4 wheeler out again, tore the wheels off the diecut while it was still on the mat, punched 2 circles very close to the same size and stuck them to the mat over where the wheels had been, loaded it and hit repeat last! The little blue brads were the finishing touch.

The scalloped frame was made with a Crafters Workshop template used as a mask with Smooch spray ink. I didn't originally make this frame for this layout, it was one I created and then couldn't figure out how to use until now. Journaling at the bottom reads: Only a moment of indecision before you decided this was a cool deal! 12/97

Supplies used: Bazzill cardstock; Basic Grey patterned paper; American Craft letter stickers; Grungeboard "st", chipboard "#1" from a pack by Jo Anns; Fiskars & McGill punches; Making Memories star brads; Marvy Le Plume markers.

Have a happy day and thanks for stopping!

I Had a Hard time...

Deciding if I should go monochromatic or add color with these pics! The colors are washed out (they are 14 years old) but I love them. Eric was swinging him into the flag and he was giggling uncontrollably! Can you believe he was only 8 months in these pics?!

The paper line "Twig" by Little Yellow Bicycle just begged to be used :) The colors matched perfectly and didn't compete so much with the photos.

I wanted to use a K&Co. burlap flower but it was too big. Hmmm... Eureka! I pulled out the Sizzix Bigshot and a flower die and recut it, added the others on top, a bit of twine and a pearl.  The white flower behind it all is the one that came in the die package, I think it was to show the actual size. Love it!

Used the brackets to draw attention to his cute giggling face.

Thanks for stopping by :}
